Rotary International is the world's oldest service club, with 30,000 clubs in more than 165 countries. Its members form a global network of business and professional leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities and the world. Our motto is "Service Above Self" which exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the organization's 1.2 million members.

As Rotarians we serve throughout the world. We've administered polio vaccines in many countries, helped to build well and irrigation projects, funded schools and hospitals, and given to many others in need.

Here in the Greater Portland area the Rotary Club of Casco Bay Sunrise has given to many organizations including Portland West, the Ronald McDonald House, Preble Street Resource Center, Maine Children's Cancer Program, Yes to Youth, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Port Resources, Salvation Army and many, many more. We also have opportunities for hands-on work, for instance painting rooms for Day One's new transitional housing, or building steps for a day care. We also have opportunities to help individuals and families in need, with Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas gifts, and other donations. We also provided funding to supply children's books at the East End Community School in Portland.
